We want to acknowledge the land in which this exhibition was made possible. The WJB Gallery sits on the ancestral and traditional homelands of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, the Apalachee, Seminole, and Muscogee Nations, and the ancient Calusa, Uzita, and Tocobaga peoples. This land holds memory that exceeds institutions. It remembers long before it welcomes. To acknowledge this is to remember that place is never neutral, and that belonging has always been shaped by power, movement, and survival.
